Learn the ART of Wildlife Film and Photo Journalism with Jason at the beautiful O’Reilly's Rainforest Retreat.
Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, everyone has the ability to tell a story in images or film. On this tour, you’ll learn techniques for story-telling using your digital SLR equipment.
You’ll have the chance to learn directly from the masters, including shadowing the Wildiaries natural history team as they make a short film with Jason. You’ll get the chance to hang out us, pick up tips and get exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunities to film and photograph wildlife at this extraordinary location.

Set out on a photo safari amid some of East Africa’s most spectacular landscapes and hone your skills while photographing an ever-changing tableau of wildlife. Learn how best to capture movement and light as you frame dazzling herds of zebras, majestic lion prides, and wildebeests on their annual migration across the Serengeti. Spend time with the Maasai and document their traditions in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Practice new photography skills—from framing landscapes to taking portraits—and tell the story of your expedition through your pictures. Capture the beauty of Australia’s beaches, get close-ups of wildlife, and photograph your adventures as you sail, snorkel, and surf your way along the coast.
These highly structured trips, ranging from 10 to 15 days, allow students ages 13 through 15 who are completing 7th and 8th grades to experience exciting destinations in a fun, engaging, and safe environment. With guidance from National Geographic experts and trip leaders, students explore three themes which have been selected to enhance the experience in each destination. Cycling through these themes in smaller groups allows students to deepen the interests they already have and discover new ones along the way.

Stretching along Australia’s northwest coast, the Kimberley Plateau is a vast and beautiful landscape of plunging waterfalls, wild sandstone formations, deep river gorges—and very few people. Aboriginal cultures here have remained largely intact, and traces of their ancient ancestors can be found at spectacular rock art sites along the coast. Experience the raw majesty of the Kimberley, exploring from the fully equipped National Geographic Orion. In the company of Jason, get acquainted with local mythology and culture, encounter a wide array of wildlife, and navigate the stunning coast in Zodiacs. King George Falls is flowing forcefully in May and June, while humpback whales begin to arrive in June and are most abundant in August.
